The Centralia City Council Monday night will be asked to approve a redevelopment agreement with Freight Car Locomotive Experts (FCLE, LLC) that will allow the company to expand its operations at 624 North Elm.

FCLE is a family-owned business with over 130 years of expertise in the railroad manufacturing business with contracts around the globe.  It currently employs six people and plans to grow to 16 individuals within two years.  The agreement will provide a ten-year loan at a five percent monthly rate which will help as the gap financing for machinery, equipment, and inventory for the existing contracts and future contracts.

The council will be asked to approve a resolution waiving the bidding requirements and approving the purchase of a 2022 Dodge Durango from the Kansas Highway Patrol in the amount of $34,500.  The vehicle will replace a 2018 Ford Explorer with 133,891 miles used by administrative/investigative personnel.

A resolution approving an agreement with Gonzalez Companies, LLC to perform preliminary engineering and engineering inspection services for the 2025 motor fuel tax street maintenance program is also on the agenda.

The meeting begins at six Monday night at Centralia City Hall.
