Senior Lady Stallion Rylee Brammeier has also advanced to the IHSA Sectional today finishing 8th overall (19:37) today and qualifying as the 1st individual Varsity Girls runner not on a qualifying team. This will be her fourth year in a row advancing to the IHSA Sectional.

The Boys team and Brammeier qualified out of the IHSA regional at Trenton-Wesclin this morning. For the Stallion Boys, Soph. Carson Pigg led the way placing 7th overall at the regional out of the 86 member field in 16:10(PR). Senior Zerek Koch made sure this would not be his final race of his XC career at COR running an exceptional race, finishing 21st and breaking the 17 minute mark in 16:59 which was also a personal record for Koch for 3.0 mi distance. Soph. Wyatt Gregory continued his incredible Sophomore season in which he has constantly improved, he would finish 32nd overall (17:38) and secure a PR for himself as well. Freshman Cameron Jones would step up big time as he has worked all season and has been huge for The Stallions. Jones would come in 55th with a personal best time of 18:47. Senior Isaiah Lyons would round out the Stallions with his season’s best 3 mile time placing 59th in 19:05! For Lyons and Senior teammate Zerek Koch, they will end very strong careers as 3X IHSA sectional qualifiers.

Coach Tim Koch told WJBD/WSIQ Sports, “Qualifying as teammates each season from their Sophomore seasons on. I’m just so excited for our team. God was with our runners today and we give him all the glory for advancing! Our runners fought really hard today and we had so many PRs. It feels really good to see what this group has accomplished this season and Zerek, Rylee and Isaiah the past 4 seasons I’ve been fortunate enough to coach them! No matter what happens at Sectional, this group has earned the right to be there and gave themselves a shot to advance to the IHSA State meet.”
