The Salem Wildcats will travel to Olney for the 2a soccer regional semifinal as they take on 2nd seeded Triad with a 4pm kickoff. The Wildcats have never played in a regional championship match in the program’s history, but this year has been a year of firsts. They will have to pull off the upset, as the Knights eliminated Salem last year in the semifinals and are back with another solid club.
At Waterloo today, the Mount Vernon Rams will take on the hosts at 5pm followed by Freeburg and Centralia at 7.
Also today in regional semifinals at Althoff, the hosts take on Litchfield followed by Highland and Civic Memorial. Charleston will host Centennial followed by Champaign Central and Mattoon.
In 1a regional championships this afternoon, TTown takes on Staunton at Altamont, Father McGivney hosts Maryville Christian, Hillsboro hosts Greenville and Breese Mater Dei will travel to Waterloo Gibault.
