Dolores received her Masters in Curriculum at Southern Illinois University and her Masters in Administration at Eastern Illinois University. In 1983 Dolores broke her neck while riding a horse and was paralyzed for twenty days. God performed a miracle on Dolores during that time and it is a testimony she shared many times. She was a member of Belle Rive Missionary Baptist Church. Dolores was a Sunday School Teacher, Assistant Treasurer, VBS Director, and Assistant Pianist at the church. Dolores was an active member of Women of Compassion, a group that supports the ministry of the Baptist Children’s Home and Family Services. Dolores claimed Isaiah 40:31 as her verse. She was a strong Christian example, but her greatest accomplishment was being called Granny by her boys.
