Centralia Police investigate shots fired into North Elm Street home

The Centralia Police Department is investigating an early Sunday morning incident where shots were fired into a residence in the 400 block of North Elm Street.

Officers contacted the residents after responding to a shots fired call and quickly determined the residence had multiple holes from apparent gunfire.  There were no injuries.

Gun shell casings were located on the roadway.  Police say it is not clear if the shots were fired from the street or a passing vehicle.

After the scene was secured, the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigations were contacted.

Centralia Police Officers canvassed the area for any possible video, and witnesses to the event. This incident is still under investigation.
