Salem’s Haarmann & Russell Advancing To State 

The Salem Lady Wildcats were 5th at the Effingham Sectional and failed to advance as a team.  Salem’s Jaryn Haarmann and Mya Russell both qualified as individuals and will advance to state next weekend in Decatur.


CHS Olivia Johnson Comes Up Short At Weibring GC 

Centralia junior Olivia Johnson failed to qualify out of the 2a Sectionals at Weibring Golf Club in Normal.  She shot 93 with the cut line being 83.  Rachel Johnson of Edwardsville was medalist shooting 74.  Lincoln Way East won the team title advancing with a 316, O’Fallon 340 and Edwardsville 350 also advanced.


Lockhart & Sapp Fail To Qualify For State…CHS Cook Also Misses Out 

Both Wildcat golfers, Logan Lockhart and Kyler Sapp, failed to qualify out of the 2a Golf Sectional at Anna Jonesboro.  The cut line was 79 with Lockhart shooting 84 and Sapp shot 86.  Also missing out was Centralia’s Daven Cook who shot 94.  Hudson Meister of Charleston won the individual title shooting 72.  He advances along with Olney’s Ayden Nealis who shot 79, Kyle Chudd of Columbia 76 and Will Stevens IV of Roxana who shot 75.  Also not advancing were Mt Vernon’s Xander Ashby 82 and Blake Brown 87, Olney’s Reese Glover 84 and Carsyn Ameter 94, Breese Central’s Jack Gerstner 84 and Ryker Hegger 9.


Chapman Just Misses Out On Tiebreaker In Advancing To State 

In boys 1a Sectionals at Zeigler, Sandoval’s Beau Chapman was tied for the final qualifying spot to advance, but missed out shooting 79.

St Anthony’s Jack Swingler shot 70 to win the title with his Bulldogs advancing trying to repeat as State champs shooting 195.  Also Mater Dei moves on with their 309 and TTown 317.

Also not moving on locally, Mater Dei’s Bennett Moss 80, Maddox Rakers 81 and Cooper Klay 83; Nashville’s Miles Taylor 85, Lucas Dunn 86 and Maddox Ritzel 100; Andrew Puckett of Flora shot 89 and Vandalia’s Owen Halford 95.
