Wildcats Soccer Ties School Record With 11th Win, Back In Action Today At Home

The Salem Wildcats held off a scrappy Altamont Indians team yesterday as they improved to 11-2 on the season with a 3-2 victory.  Salem got goals from Eli Baker, Alex Spencer and Caleb Purintun.  Payton Gullion and Oliver Morton were great on defense both getting saves keeping goals off the board in the game.  Salem won their school record tying 11th game with a chance to break that record this afternoon when they host Olney at FCC.

The Orphans will host Freeburg.

Also yesterday, Althoff shutout Belleville East 2-0, Vandalia lot to Carlinville 10-0, Effingham is still undefeated with their 4-1 win over Mattoon, Freeburg beat Roxana 6-1, Marion over Mt Vernon 6-2, Mater Dei beat Breese Central 5-1, TTown 2-1 over Newton and Wesclin shutout Jerseyville 3-0.
