The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department has arrested two people on weapons charges after shots were fired during a reported disturbance in the 400 block of North Broadway in Waltonville on Sunday night.

After several minutes, deputies were able to get a resident, later identified as 58-year-old Christopher Redman, to exit the home.  It was determined he was the only one inside the home.

After securing the residence and speaking with Redman and multiple witnesses, deputies determined a second individual was involved in the disturbance. Deputies relocated to a home in the 300 block of North Hirons Street where they made contact with 68-year-old David Spotanski.  He also was later taken into custody without incident.

Redman was taken into custody for alleged Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm with an Expired FOID Card. Spotanski was arrested for Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Mt. Vernon and State Police.
