The Franklin Park Bobcats won their Class L baseball regional opener at home beating visiting Carlyle 15-0 in three innings. Zane Applegate doubled going 3-3 with 3 RBI. Emit Gibson also had 3 hits and drove in 3. Eli Purdy had 2 hits and 2 RBI with RBI also from Bentley Bryan, Jax Schaubert and Kai Graham. Applegate worked all 3 innings needing just 31 pitches, 26 of those were strikes. Salem will play Wesclin in the regional championship at Salem.
In Class M, Nashville shutout Woodlawn 13-0 and All Saints beat Breese 3-2 with that championship scheduled for Monday.
