The SC Cougars are starting to hit their stride as they pulled off two wins on Saturday in prep baseball action.
SC pounded Mulberry Grove 22-2 scoring 9 runs in the first and 7 more in the 3rd. Maddux Robb doubled and drove in 3 runs with 2 RBI each from Callaway Smith, Colton Smith and Trevan Sidwell. Also with Cougar RBI were Brody Markley, Luke Shumate, Evan Hoover, Garret Shumate, Ryker Dodson, Sebastian Kruger and Chase Guerrettaz. Guerrettaz and Dodson each worked 2 innings combining to strike out 7 and walk just 1 on 3 hits allowed.
The Cougars also beat NTC Conference foe Windsor/Stew-Stras 3-2 in 8-innings as SC scored a run in the bottom of the 8th for the walk-off win. Markley doubled home a run and Hudson Moore came up with an RBI. Moore, Zane Montes and Garret Shumate had 2 hits each at the bottom of the Cougars lineup that came up big. Garret Shumate went 6.2 allowing 4 hits and 2 runs with Montes getting the win in relief.
