Bobcats Hold On To Beat Wesclin
The Franklin Park Bobcats saw most of their 4 run lead dwindle away, but they held on to beat visiting Wesclin 4-3. Kai Graham doubled for the Cats and drove in a run along with Emit Gibson. Ben Lux went 2-3 and Zane Applegate also had 2 hits. Salem got singles and runs each from Bentley Bryan, Jax Schaubert and Owen Tennyson. Applegate was the winning pitcher allowing no earned runs and 7 hits with 5 strikeouts in 5.2. Dakota Gregg picked up the save.
Iuka Falls To Wayne City
Iuka lost to Wayne City 9-0. Vince Krajefska had a hit and Zach Jones went 2-3 to account for all the Pirates offense. Devan Jennings only allowed 4 earned runs in 3.2 innings with 6 strikeouts. Jones worked the final 2.1.
Mohawks 11-0 With Win Over Raccoon
Patoka improved to 11-0 with a 9-2 win over Raccoon in Patoka. Blaize Murray tripled and drove in a run, Kru Cain added a double and a run scored. Brody Spicer drove in 2 with RBI also from Dane Jolliff, Hunter Thompson and Nolan Eddy. Joliff and Hunter Hyde worked 3 innings each on the mound in the win with 10 strikeouts and only 2 hits allowed. John Organ had both Raccoon hits and scored a run.
SCMS Honors 8th Graders With Win Over BES
The SC Falcons beat visiting Brownstown/St Elmo yesterday 11-1. Colton Tockstein doubled going 2-4 with 3 RBI. Nathan Knutt also drove in 3. Aidan Hoover added 2 with RBI also from Jack Doehring and Aiden Strobel. Tockstein was the winning pitcher going 5 innings allowing no hits and struck out 10. Hoover got the final 3 outs. The Falcons return to action today at Windsor/Stew-Stras.
Also in middle school baseball, Herrin beat Benton 13-7, Marion over Harrisburg 16-2, Nashville beat Pinckneyville 14-2 and Woodlawn 10-9 over Rome.
