Lady Bobcats Bounce Back With Softball W
Franklin Park got back on the winning side with a 16-4 win over Wesclin. Emily Parret was good striking out 8. Kenna Benjamin had 3 hits with 2 each from Adysen Pracht and Parrett. Teagan Lobek, Pracht and Parrett all drove in 2 runs. Franklin Park will open the Woodlawn tournament today with Summersville. Summersville is 17-3 after an 18-8 win over Casey Mount Vernon.
Patrick’s 2nd No Hitter Lifts Selmaville To Win
The Lady Rockets got a stellar performance from Allie Patrick in the circle tonight! She threw her 2nd no hitter of the season striking out 7 while facing the minimum through 4 innings. Only one Odin Batter reached base due to an error but Gia Ward turned her 3rd double play of the season to close out the game! Patrick threw just 37 pitches 25 for strikes in picking up her 9th win with just 1 loss!
Offensively the Lady Rockets were led by Brylee Carter going 2-2 with 2 doubles and 3 RBIs, Allie Patrick helped herself going 2-3 with a double, Karmen Murray was 2-3 and scored 2 runs! Samara Simmons was 1-2 with a double! The Lady Rockets honored their 4 eighth graders before the game. Allie Patrick, Brylee Carter, Azeemah Adenekan and Samara Simmons have been a big part of the program’s success over the last 3 years! The Lady Rockets are 16-4 on the season and will be off until next Tuesday when they travel to Patoka and Wednesday at Sandoval both games will start at 4:30.
St Mary/Willow Grove Falls
St Mary/Willow Grove couldn’t overcome 6 errors in a loss to St Mary/OBR 10-9. Brylee Keller went 2-3 with 3 RBI. Raylynn Parker tripled with 2 hits and 2 RBI. Charleigh Garren added a hit and 2 RBI. Devyn Dodillet singled home a run and scored twice. Parker took the loss but was really good striking out 13 and walking just 1.
Also in softball action, Herrin 7-4 over Benton, Okawville shutout Carlyle 13-0, Pinckneyville 7-3 over Chester and Wayne City beat Iuka 13-1.
