A home just west of Ashley is believed to be a total loss following a Tuesday afternoon fire.
Ashley Fire Chief Jack Boczek says the fire at the Gerald Evans home at 25,865 State Route 15 appears to have started around the chimney and spread into the attic. There were heavy smoke and heat damage throughout the home. The outside of the home remains intact.
The fire is believed to have started as a flue fire.
The residents were able to get out safely.
The fire call came in at 12:48 Tuesday afternoon with firemen on the scene until around three pm. There were no issues in fighting the blaze.
Nashville and Irvington provided automatic mutual aid.
