5 Area Bowlers Still Alive To Make Cut At Junior Gold Nationals With One Round Left

The Jr Gold Youth National Bowling Tournament continued yesterday with the 3rd of 4 four-game blocks rolled.  In the 18u Boys Division there are 1334 competitors.  With one round to go, Salem senior Keaton Gullion is currently in 18th place.  He shot an amazing 920 block yesterday and sits at +173 for the tournament averaging over 214 over the 12 games so far.

Carterville’s Evan Flath has bowled great so far as well shooting a 924 block and is at +248 and is in 5th place.  Both have a really good shot of advancing to the next round tomorrow after their last block of games today.  Silas Moats is looking good so far in 86th place.  He shot 743 yesterday and is at a +15 total.  Ryan Detering is also in the cut so far with his 113th place.  Ryan shot 855 to put himself back in contention and is at -11 on the tournament.

Rhett Detering shot 703 and is at -272 sitting in 566 and Christ Our Rock grad Rhett Runge is 798 shooting 752 yesterday and -358 for the 12 games.

Also inside the cut line as of right now, Connor Lunning of O’Fallon who is at +91 and in 41st.  Carterville’s David Lutchka is at +33 and in 77th.

Mount Vernon’s Trace Elliott is 372 with his 811 block and is at -180.  Chandler Buckingham of Marion shot 783 and is 544th with his -262.  Carter Martin of Breese shot 686 and is 709th, Brody Elliott of Mount Vernon is 789 with his -358.  Colton Martin of Breese shot 640 and is 891st, Travin Elliott of Mount Vernon is 899th with his -398, Jeremiah Barker of Mount Vernon is 1010 with his -443, Tyler Huegen of Trenton is 1199th at -559

In the Girls 18u Division, Macy Jones of Vandalia is in 116th place with the top 78 advancing after today to the next round.  Macy shot a 740 in her 3rd 4-game block of the week and is at -239 for the tournament.  Macy was runner up a year ago.  Salem’s Elena VanHoutin is a  -745 after her 579 block and sits in 517th place.  Alexis Livesay of Hoyleton is 531st with her 587 block and -815 total.

In the U15 boys Division the top 88 advance, Dalton Wheeler of Harrisburg is 49th with a 903 block yesterday and is +69.  Cooper Martin of Breese is 235th shooting -256. Aidan King of Mount Vernon is 433rd shooting a -441, Mount Vernon’s Sam Klimek is at -450 and in 443 place, Nick Hartman also of Mount Vernon is 486 shooting a tournament score of -499.  Centralia’s Jaxon Cushman is 588th shooting a 627 block and is -694 for the tournament.

In the U12 Girls Division the top 17 advance with Reese Renth of Aviston sitting 52nd with her 3rd block score of 532 and is -658 for the tournament.
