Olney 10u All Stars Fall In State Semifinals

The Olney Fighting Squirrels 10u All Stars were eliminated in the State Final Four falling to Mendota 3-2 at Rural King Field in Paris.  Olney jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first inning; however Mendota would score a run each in the 2^nd and 3^rd innings to tie the game.  They would go ahead in the top of the 7^th with a run and hold off Olney for the win.  Olney was out hit in the game 12-4 but kept battling and never gave up.  Olney finishes their state trip at 3-2 with wins over Warren Park, Moline and LaGrange with losses to LaGrange and Mendota.
