The Centralia City Council Monday night will be asked to once again waive the payment of demolition permit fees for the coming calendar year. The city has been waiving the fees since 2012 to assist in the process of demolishing derelict and dilapidated houses.

A resolution will be presented to utilize $60,458 in motor fuel tax funds to help pay for the upcoming resurfacing of East Broadway from Lincoln to McCord and Frazier from Lincoln to Perrine.

The council will consider another resolution to hire Gonzalez Companies, LLC to design a replacement of a 1,350-foot section of sanitary sewer force main adjacent to the Greenview Road that has had frequent breaks. The company would be paid $9,800 for the surveying, design, and assistance in bidding on the project.

The city council will consider support of a $25,000 working capital grant to Marilyn’s Downtown Lounge, Inc. under the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Small Business Stabilization Grant program.

The meeting gets underway at six Monday night via Zoom conference call.
