Patoka Post 543 Comes Up Just Short In District Finals At Breese

Breese won the Junior Legion District 23 Tournament, coming back to beat Patoka Post 543 in the “If Necessary” game 12-11 scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning when they were down 11-7 to take that 12-11 lead and hold on for the win.  They advance to next week’s Division Tournament in Trenton.

For Patoka, Drew Haines drove in 3 runs, Logan Butts doubled going 2-2 with 2 RBI, Kaiden Harrell and Ryker Dodson also drove in runs.  Garret Shumate scored a run and Luke Shumate singled and scored.

Post 543 gave it a valiant effort as they won the opening game of the night against Breese 11-0 in six innings to force the ‘if’ game.  Ryker Dodson went the distance for Patoka allowing 2 hits and struck out 8.  Harrell and Luke Shumate drove in 3 runs each with RBI also from Butts, Kyan Walker, Spencer and Hoffman.
