Studio 50 Gym, Dance and Cheer Center had 35 athletes with 85 events travel to Louisville, KY for the United States Trampoline and Tumbling Association on June 17th-22nd. Those competing are from the local areas of Sandoval, Salem, Centralia, Patoka, Carlyle, Woodlawn, and Mulberry Grove.
These athletes attended the Southern Illinois State Competition in Mt. Zion in April where they competed in trampoline, double mini and tumbling. In order to qualify for nationals, these athletes had to place in the top 15 places of their age and level.
These athletes train two days a week from August-May to prepare for their competitions and their hard work paid off! They brought home a total of 24 trophies for their events for placing in the top 10 of their age and level in the nation. Many of their divisions ranged from having a total 40-90 competitors.
This is the last event of their 23-24 competition season. They are currently enrolled in their summer session and will begin their 24-25 session in August. The 2025 USTA National event will be held in Rapid City, SD next summer.
Their coaches and families are so proud of their hard work and dedication. This sport creates so many life lessons beyond the jumping, flipping, and twisting that occurs.
