Lester Lee Loy, 68, of Charleston, IL passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. Lester served as a Staff Sergeant in the Army in his younger years. Lester was of the Baptist faith. He and his wife are considered simple folk who enjoyed spending their time at home in each other’s company and with family. Lester loved his family especially his grandkids. He will be greatly missed by them.
Per Lester Loy’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no public services will be held at this time. In addition to his wife of 36 years Darla Loy, Lester is survived by: one son: Darwin Moore and significant other Byanncah Moore of Charleston; two daughters: Kristie Whited and husband TJ of Marshville, MO and Stephanie Zhao and husband Ming of CA; eleven grandchildren: Cyle Moore, Destiny Moore, Trevor Moore, Maddilynn Moore, Izaaah Moore, Colsyn Moore, Denise Whited, Cynthia Whited, Deanna Whited, Gavin Zhao, and Jonathan Zhao; three great-grandchildren: Dylan, Derrick, and Wyatt Myers; two brothers: Doug Loy and wife Judy of Centralia and Karl Loy of Centralia; one sister: Patty Tucker of Salem; and a special friend: Particia Hill.
Lester was born February 11, 1952, the son of Duane Lester Loy and Mildred Joy (Loyd) Loy. He married Darla (Wessling) Loy on July 13, 1984 in Aura, CO. Lester was preceded in death by his parents: Duane and Mildred Loy, two sisters: Silvia Donoho and Moana Cobb, and one grandson: Darwin Moore, Jr.
