Three candidates will appear on the November General Election Ballot for county board after being caucused onto the ballot by the Democratic and Republican Central Committees.

The Democrats have placed Megan Young Geary of North Lakeview Drive in Salem on the ballot in District Two where she will challenge Republican Dr. Michael Douglas who earned the ballot spot after defeating incumbent board member Dr. Creighton Engle.

The Democrats have placed Thomas Crossland III of Harris Road in Salem for County Board District Four.   He will face Republican Cody Rose who won a contested primary over David Jourdan.

The Democrats did not have any candidates on the ballot in the March primary.

The Marion County Republicans have filled their one open seat.  Larry Sills of Princess Avenue in Odin has been caucused to run in District Three.   He will run unopposed for two open seats in the district.   The other Republican candidate is Timothy McCance.

Marion County Clerk Steve Fox says the deadline to get placed on the November election ballot was Monday.

Races under county clerks are not impacted by a new law passed by the legislature and signed into law by the Governor to no longer allow candidates to be placed on the ballot after the primary election in elections run by the State Board of Elections.
