The Illinois Department of Public Health list of counties at the warning level for coronavirus disease has grown to 51 for the coming week. Clinton, Clay, Fayette, and Wayne County are all on the list for another week while Washington County has dropped off.
Various indicators are used to determine counties at risk, but all have gone above the eight-percent positivity rate.
Marion County’s positivity rate remains unchanged since Thursday at 6.2-percent. The highest rate in the region is in Clinton County at 16.9-percent. The Clay County Rate is at 11.2-percent. Washington County has seen its positivity rate increase to 10.3-percent. Jefferson County is at 7.3-percent. Wayne County’s rate has fallen six-tenths of a percent to 9.6-percent. For the first time in eight days the Fayette County rate is below eight-percent and fell 1.7-percent on Friday to 7.2-percent.
The Southern Illinois Region’s positivity is at 8 .7-percent, down four-tenths of a percent over Thursday. The Metro-East Region has gone back above the eight-percent positivity level to 8.1-percent and could face additional mitigation again if the rate remains above eight percent for three days. The East Central Illinois rate has dipped two-tenths of a percent to 7.3-percent.
The State’s positivity rate dipped slightly to 5.6-percent.
