A Taylorville attorney has won the Republican Primary to replace the at large circuit judgeship left vacant by the election of Michael McHaney of Salem to the Appellate Court.
Dennis Atteberry received 13,924 votes in the nine counties making up the Fourth Judicial Circuit while current Associate Judge Douglas Gruenke received 13,277 votes.
Gruenke received 2,049 votes in Marion County compared to 1,898 for Atteberry.
