A 73-year-old Pana woman was injured Sunday in a single-car wreck on I-57 at mile marker 117 a mile north of the Salem exit.

State Police say preliminary information indicates that Pamela Beck was traveling northbound when she went off the shoulder, struck a guard rail, went off the road to the right, through a ditch and fence, and into a field before coming to a stop.

The Salem Fire Protection District was called out to assist Beck in getting her to an ambulance from the field.  She was then taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

State Police ticketed Beck for improper lane usage.

The crash occurred at 12:55 on Sunday afternoon.
