Finally, the men and women of the KC cross country teams were back in action. The Blue Angels and Devils traveled to Normal, IL to compete in the Heartland Invite #2.
The 12th ranked Blue Angels put together a solid event, placing 3rd behind the #2 ranked Heartland College Hawks and the D1 ranked Vincennes women. The Angels were led by Cheyenne Finley who placed 7th in a time of 22:27 over the 5K course. Elyse Faust was next across the finish line in 13th and she was followed by Summer Chef in 15th. Gracee Kelly was the 4th counter for KC and Mya Albers picked up the 5th pointer. Abby Bloemer and Macie Hargis were 6th and 7th for the team.
The Blue Devils placed 5th as a team and were led by Noah Probst in 11th, Ty Reynolds, running in his first college race, started out with fantastic first race, placing 12th. Alex Detmer and Andrew Stevenson were the 4th and 5th counters for the team, followed by Matt Speidel, Braden Tate and Alex Huegen bringing the next 3 spots for the Blue Devils over the 8K course.
