Monday is the first day to make application for assistance through the Centralia Community Youth Center and WJBD radio Adopt a Family program.
Applications are available at the Centralia Community Youth Center at 1224 East Rexford from noon to five Monday through Friday and at the Salem Library at 315 South Maple in Salem from ten to seven Monday through Thursday and nine to two on Friday and Saturday. The deadline to apply is Friday, November 13th.
The number seeking help is expected to increase greatly since another Centralia program will not be operating this year. If you would like to adopt a family this Christmas season now is the time to contact the Centralia Community Youth Center at 618-532-6530. If you would like to make a cash donation so volunteer shoppers can purchase gifts and items for the family, you may do so by contacting the Centralia Community Youth Center or WJBD radio.
