The Salem City Council will be asked to give final approval to the city’s property tax levy for next year’s bills at Monday night’s meeting. The proposed increase is 3.95-percent, under the five percent increase that would require a truth in taxation hearing.
The council will be asked to abate the general obligation bond that is being paid off through sales tax revenue.
The council will go into closed session to discuss potential acquisition of property.
The meeting begins at six Monday night at Salem City Hall.
