It was sectional championship night in girls’ basketball. In 1a, Altamont won their 2nd ever Sectional, winning at Central A&M over Salt Fork 39-29. Okawville won the Nokomis title over Father McGivney 41-29. Goreville beat Edwards County at Elverado 64-43.
Nashville pulled off the upset in 2a as they knocked off the state’s #2 ranked Breese Central Lady Cougars 46-34 at Nashville. Robinson won at Newton eliminating Teutopolis 59-55.
In 3a at Effingham, Highland beat the host Hearts 34-31.
In 4a, Alton beat Normal Community at Normal West 66-56.
