The Woodlawn 7th Grade Tournament got underway on Tuesday night. The Salem Bobcats opened with a 51-33 win over Waltonville. They will play tonight at 6pm in the semifinals against top-seed Nashville who beat Rome 48-12. For the Bobcats, Zane Applegate led the way with 15, Owen Tennyson added 11 and Liam Shober finished with 8.
The other opening round games saw Wayne City beat Summersville 53-26 and Bartelso over Woodlawn 34-27. At the same time that Salem and Nashville are playing tonight at 6 in the New Gym, Waltonville and Rome will play in the Old Gym. Then the 7:15 semifinals in the New Gym is Wayne City and Bartelso with Woodlawn and Summersville in the consolation semifinals in the Old Gym.
