The Salem Wildcats open up regional golf play today at The Orchards Golf Course in Belleville. They will be joined by Breese Central, Centralia, Columbia, Freeburg, Highland, Mascoutah, Triad and Waterloo. With the top teams and individuals advancing to the Centralia Sectional. Mt Vernon is hosting regional action as well as Roxana and Paris which includes Olney.
In 1a regionals at Mt Olive, Vandalia will compete. At Mt Carmel it will be teams including Altamont, St Anthony, Flora and TTown. At Okawville, Mater Dei, Christ Our Rock, Sandoval and Woodlawn. Qualifiers advance to the Zeigler Royalton Sectional next Tuesday at the Franklin County Country Club.
In 3a at Oak Brook Golf Club in Edwardsville, the host Tigers will be joined by Alton, Belleville East & West, Collinsville, Granite City, O’Fallon and Quincy.
