Selmaville dropped their regional title game at home to Altamont Lutheran 11-0 win five innings. Carter Lowe doubled twice for the Rockets with Adrian Miller adding the only other hit. Kade Milleville was the winning pitcher for Altamont Lutheran as he doubled and drove in 2 at the plate as well. Milleville allowed 3 hits and struck out 4. Heydin Purcell started for Selmaville throwing 4.1 allowing 7 hits and 9 runs but only 2 earned with 9 strikeouts. Selmaville committed 5 errors in the game. Altamont Lutheran will advance to the Class S state tournament on Wednesday when they host the winner of Raccoon and Waltonville.
Also in Class S on Monday, Raccoon takes on Waltonville at 4:30 for the Region 7 title.
The Franklin Park Bobcats take their 13-0 record on the road for the first round of the Class L State Tournament on Wednesday when they play at Wesclin at 4pm. You can listen to the state baseball quarterfinal on 92.1 FM, AM 1350 or WJBDradio.com. The winner will play on Saturday against the winner of Millstadt at Highland.
The top portion of the bracket will see Benton at DuQuoin and Johnston City goes to Marion.
In Class M today, Patoka will host Rome at 11am for the Region 7 championship. The winner advances to play at Albion on Wednesday in state play.
