The SC Cougars shutout Webber 15-0 on the road to improve to 16-3 on the season. For the baseball program it was win #986 since consolidation in 1989. For head coach Curt Jones, it’s career win #787.
Beau Jolliff and Sebastian Cowger combined for the 1-hit win on the mound. At the plate SC got 2 RBI each from Jolliff, Cowger, Sam Rubin, Ethan Dunn and Ethan Watwood. Also driving in runs were Chase Thompson, Chase Dodson, Spencer Johannes and Amos Blomberg. SC scored 9 times in the opening inning and pounded out 13 hits in the 4 inning game.
SC will be the 2 seed in next week’s National Trail Conference Tournament and will open up at home against 7th seed Dieterich on Monday afternoon.
