The Franklin Park Bobcats are regional champions after their 5-3 win over Carmi in a game you heard on Q92.

Salem opened up the scoring with 2 runs in the 2nd inning, and after Carmi cut the lead to 2-1 after 4, Salem answered with 2 more runs in the fifth.  Carmi plated 2 runs in the top of the sixth to make it 4-3, but Salem scored an insurance run in the sixth to help with the win.

Noah Nix was the winning pitcher going 5.2 allowing 3 hits and 0 earned runs with 13 strikeouts and no walks.  Colton Shelton came in with 2 outs in the sixth and retired the next 4 batters for the save.  At the plate, Nix drove in a run along with Rhett Detering, Colton Shelton, Cooper Lobek and Colten Starnes.  Deytin Parker scored a run along with Angel Salgado, Lyric Black and Keaton Gullion.

Salem is 13-0 and will open up state baseball action on Wednesday at a location to be determined.

In other regional title action, Centralia dropped their regional championship game to Wesclin losing 13-3.

In Class M, Patoka and Rome will play at Patoka tomorrow morning at 11am for their state title.

In Class S today, Selmaville will host Altamont Lutheran at the Little League Complex for their regional title starting at 4:30.

Yesterday, Raccoon defeated Opdyke-Belle Rive 12-1 to advance to their regional title game where they will play at Waltonville on Monday after their 15-0 win over Summersville.
