Monday is the Class M SIJHSAA girls state semifinals at Rend Lake. Nashville will play Smithton at 6 followed by Aviston and Unity Point.
The Class S tournament opened on Saturday. Shawnee beat TSJ Nashville 42-29, Holy Trinity Catholic over Jonesboro 30-28, Summersville over New Hope 43-32, Bartelso 54-26 over Pinckneyville. The state semifinals will be on Thursday.
The Class L tournament also opened Saturday. Carterville eliminated Waterloo 40-26, Marion over Wolf Branch 43-35, Wesclin 32-23 over Mt Carmel and DuQuoin was 36-31 winners over Hamilton County. The Class L state semifinals are Tuesday night.
