A 21-year-old Mt. Vernon woman has been arrested by Centralia Police on multiple weapons charge after allegedly firing shots at a vehicle last November near 3rd and Perrine Streets.
Tyouna Damron of West Westcott is being held in the Marion County Jail for alleged aggravated discharge of a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of a controlled substance.
Centralia Police say after firing a shot, Damron allegedly waived a gun around and fired at a pickup truck. A bullet hole was left in the side of the truck and a loose casing was later found in the truck by the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigation.
Police say Damron was identified as the suspect by witnesses in the area, but she was not located until a traffic stop Wednesday night where she was taken into custody on the outstanding weapons charges and a new offense of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Damron is expected to appear in court on any new charges on Friday.
