A Salem man already facing multiple vehicle theft charges now faces additional counts for burglary to a vehicle and possession of a lost or mislaid credit or debit card.
Edward Kinney of Salem Mobile Home Park was formally charged in Marion County Court on Thursday for a December 23rd burglary to a car in the 500 block of South Washington in Salem and the possession of the credit or debit cards from another vehicle on Christmas Day.
Kinney waived a preliminary hearing on the new charges and entered a not guilty plea. A jury trial was set for March 12th.
Kinney was already charged with three vehicle theft cases as well as possession of methamphetamine. He was first charged with vehicle theft, burglary and possession of meth following a December 19th incident. After pre-trial release he allegedly stole a 2011 Kia Sole from Produce Plus parking lot in Salem on Christmas Eve that was later involved in a high speed chase on Route 161 through Clinton County and theft of another car from Centralia.
