A noon hour fire on Saturday caused fire damage to the kitchen of a Centralia home.
The fire was at the Kenya Stacey home on Charles Drive.
Centralia City Firefighters say a pot had been left on the stove unattended and got too hot. The fire spread from the pot to the stove and eventually to the rest of the kitchen. Firemen were able to confine the fire to the kitchen, but there was some smoke and heat damage to the rest of the home.
All available Centralia City Firefighters were called in. The Centralia Fire Protection District provided mutual aid assistance on the scene, while Sandoval Firemen stood by at the Centralia City Fire Station in the event of another fire.
The fire call came in at 12:01 Saturday afternoon. Firemen were on the scene for just over an hour.
