The Salem Wildcats survived and advanced through the IHSA Regional’s on Saturday held at Salem Bowl. The Cats finished 2nd to Harrisburg by 33 pins.
Junior Silas Moats was the individual champ shooting 1421. Ryan Detering was 3rd, Keaton Gullion 12th, Dominic Winkler 14 and Rhett Detering 17th.
Also advancing as a team was the Mount Vernon Rams and the Centralia Orphans. Christ Our Rock’s Rhett Runge who was 7th and Lendon Isaiah, who finished 13th, both advanced to Sectionals this weekend at Carterville.
Before Sectionals this weekend, Salem will compete at the Cahokia Conference championships tomorrow.

Also advancing to Carterville this weekend from the Alton Regional was Jerseyville, Alton, Civic Memorial and Highland. Wood River’s Dillon Gerner and Timothy Melton both advanced.
At Belleville East, advancing was O’Fallon, Mascoutah, Breese Central and Belleville West.
At Carbondale advancing were Herrin, Carterville, Waterloo and Marion. Individually advancing was Columbia’s Matthew Maue and Dylan Robinson along with Freeburg’s Maxwell Biehl.
