A rural Woodlawn home was destroyed by fire late Thursday night.

Jefferson Fire officials say the fire was at the Vince Kiesow home on Yale Road.  All three occupants of the home got out safely.

The fire started in an add-on utility room, but the cause has not been determined.   While the two-story home is still standing, much of the inside was gutted.  There was also heavy smoke damage.

Jefferson Fire received mutual aid from Mt. Vernon City, Woodlawn, Kell, and Centralia Fire Protection District, while Waltonville and Bluford stood by at the Jefferson Fire Station.

The Red Cross was called to assist the family.

The fire call came in at 11:30 Thursday night.  Firemen were on the scene for about two hours.
