The North Wamac/Irvington New Year Tournament opened last night as the hosts beat Ashley 58-36. Cooper Teaff passed the 900 career varsity point mark with his 31 to lead the Indian-Eagles.
Following the game coach Tim Koch told WJBD/WSIQ Sports he would like to dedicate the win to his Mamaw Dee Dee McCann who was an avid sports fan and always one of his biggest supporters who passed away early Tuesday morning.
In the first game of the night, Kell beat Willow Grove 49-10. Tonight New Horizon takes on Kell at 5:30 followed by NWI and Sandoval at 6:45.
In regular season action, Centralia Jr High routed Wesclin 65-19. Trey Branch led the Tigers with 19, Brodey Diehl added 9. The Centralia JV won 45-26 behind 13 points from Jemir Shered.
