Two Woodlawn men were arrested on Monday in the aftermath of an attempt to serve an out-of-county arrest warrant at their home.
Taken into custody was the person wanted on the out-of-county warrant, 40-year-old Brian Dennis, and the primary resident of the home 43-year-old Marc Baker. The Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and members of the US Marshal’s Task Force say they discovered evidence of criminal activity when entering the home at 212 North Main Street in Woodlawn.
Dennis was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on an out-of-county warrant as well as new charges of being an armed habitual criminal, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of ammunition by a felon.
Baker was booked on charges of meth-related child endangerment, aggravated possession with the intent to distribute over 900 grams of meth, and obstruction of justice by destruction of evidence.
A juvenile was located inside the residence, taken into protective custody, and DCFS was contacted to assist.
The investigation is said to be ongoing.
