At the Highland Shootout, the main event was no disappointment as Illini recruit Morez Johnson led Thornton to a tight win over Metamora 63-62. Johnson finished with 17 points and 9 rebounds in the win.
Top ranked Breese Central trailed most of the game, but converted when it mattered knocking off Highland 34-31.
Trey Williams Jr. scored 23 points to lead Vashon over Richwoods 65-49.
Also Normal Community knocked off Kenwood 57-43, Quincy beat Cardinal Ritter 62-49 and Vianney, Missouri beat Whitney Young 85-70.
