Both drivers were injured in a two vehicle crash on the west side of Salem Wednesday afternoon.
Salem Police say the collision occurred in the 2300 block of West Main Street west of XPO. They report 32-year-old Brock Powell of Perkins Street in Odin was westbound behind another car when it slowed to turn into a drive way and Powell hit it in the rear. The driver of the car that was struck was identified as 60-year-old Peggy Nehrt of West Main Street in Salem.
Both drivers were taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment. There were no passengers.
Powell was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The Salem Fire Protection District was called to the scene. They report both drivers were out of their vehicles on their own upon their arrival.
The crash occurred at 3:42 Wednesday afternoon.
