Salem Police arrested a 41-year-old homeless Centralia woman for burglary. Jacklin Tate was taken to the Marion County Jail after allegedly entering an outdoor shed in the 500 block of West Park Street Monday night. She was later allegedly found hiding behind a building in the 1000 block of East Main Street.
44-year-old Donte Jones of Cormick Street in Centralia was arrested by Centralia Police on a Marion County felony failure to appear in court warrant. Bond is set at $20,000.
The Centralia City Fire Department responded to smoke on the fourth floor of the Best Western motel around seven Monday night. Fire Chief Jeff Day says the problem turned out to be burned popcorn in a microwave. The haze of smoke was removed without any damage.
