A 47-year-old rural Centralia man has pleaded guilty to aggravated battery to a child.
Benjamin Beard of West 4th was charged with grabbing a girl under the age of 13 around the neck. He was placed on 18 months probation, ordered to abstain from drugs and alcohol with evaluation and treatment, undergo anger counseling, and make a $250 contribution to the Amy Center.
A misdemeanor battery charge for allegedly striking the girl in the face with a flip flop was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
