The Salem Lady Wildcats couldn’t overcome turnovers and a lack of intensity as they fell at home to Newton last night 53-36. Salem held an 18-13 lead after the first quarter, but Newton took a 32-25 lead with a 17-7 quarter. Salem was led by Emma Gregg with 9 points and Kayla Felgenhaur with 8. The Lady Cats will be back in action on Thursday in a varsity only game at Freeburg that will begin at 6pm on 100.1 FM WJBD.
The Salem JV lost 22-17. Alli Hustedde and Brylee Pennypacker had 6 each in the loss.
The Lady Cat Fresh/Soph is in action tonight at Olney.
Centralia fell to Carlyle 48-35. In the loss, Jasiayah Wallace led the Annies with 14 and Jalea Shered added 10.
South Central lost to Woodlawn 65-41. In the loss, Taegan Webster led SC with 12. Jase Burkett had 22 to lead Woodlawn.
