The Sandoval Blackhawks fell to Mulberry Grove 74-73. In the loss, Armoni Dempsey finished with 34 points. Bradon Mcclelland and Drew Gore added 11 each.
Last night South Central defended their home court with a win over Patoka/Odin 55-45. Senior Max Magnus led SC with 22 points including going 5-of-6 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter to help put the game away. Owen Landreth had 18 for Patoka/Odin with 11 more from Landen Robb. SC is 4-1 on the year and will play at Vandalia on Tuesday. The night began with the SC fresh/soph winning 27-19 and the JV were winners 41-34.
At the Kaskaskian last night, Pinckneyville improved to 3-0 with a 58-31 win over Flora while Greenville beat Hillsboro 51-39.
At the DuQuoin Tip Off, Chester beat Cairo 68-53, Sparta over Sesser Valier 69-50 and Murphysboro beat DuQuoin 56-43.
At the Goreville Tournament tonight, Anna takes on Harrisburg followed by Benton and Johnston City and then Hardin County and Goreville.
At the Hamilton County Foxes Invite last night, Gallatin County beat Wayne City 62-59, West Frankfort over NCOE 47-32 and Hamilton County beat Edwards County 57-48.
At the Trico Invitational, Red Bud beat Steeleville 57-37 and Carterville over Trico 56-25.
Also in prep boys games last night, Charleston beat Watseka 62-43 and Wood River lost to SIUE Charter 56-44.
