The All-South Cross-Country teams were announced this week.
Salem sophomore Maci Thorsen was named to the 2nd All South 2a Team. She is joined on the second team by Centralia’s Aurora Amason and Gracie Morgan as well as Mount Vernon’s Iylie Harris. Olney’s trio of Josie Ginder, Lily Stevens, and Mackenzie Thomas were all named to the 1st team. Carterville coach Nancy Adams was the 2A Girls Coach of the Year.
The Boys Coach of the Year went to Marion’s Scott Gill. Mount Vernon’s Caedmon Cook and Trey Mygatt were on the 1st Team. Salem junior Caiden Beer highlights the 2nd team along with Mount Vernon’s Trace Elliot and Joel Hayes.
The girls 1A Coach of the Year was Matt Denny of Anna Jonesboro. The 1A Boys Coach of the Year went to Benton’s Brent McLain.
