The Sandoval Village Board has agreed to add more veteran names to the stones in the Veterans Memorial in the Sandoval Village Park.

The board was told about 50 blank stones remain that will be available on a first come first serve basis.   The only charge for the engraving will be the $200 charged by Wilson and Wilson Monument which will be paid directly to them.   There will be a map of available stones at the Sandoval Village Clerk’s office from 8 to 4:30 pm on work days.   There are several different sizes.    The issue came up due to some citizen interest in adding names to the monument.

The Sandoval Village Board agreed to purchase a computer software program that will link the soon-to-be-installed remote read water meters to the billing system at the village hall.  The cost of the program from Continental Utilities Solutions, Incorporated, is $9,240.

Village Administrator LeAnn Speicer says the program will not only save time in data entry for bills but will also have advantages for customers.  The system will allow for automatic payment of water bills, the ability to always see balances and past amounts used, as well as get notifications of delinquent bills.

The board agreed to allow bars to remain open until two am on New Year’s Eve.   The normal closing hour on Sunday night is midnight.

Police Chief Joe Lyons announced the body cams have arrived but are not yet being used until training can be set up.
