Clay County Coroner releases names of those killed in car-pedestrian accident

Clay County Coroner Bryce Henry has released the names of the two pedestrians who were struck and killed just west of the US 50 and Big 4 Road intersection on Sunday night. They are 20-year-old Bayley Walker and 13-year-old Bryson Walker, both of Flora.

The initial investigation revealed the two were in the eastbound lane of US 50 due to their vehicle being disabled in the westbound lane, when they were struck by a passing vehicle. Both were pronounced deceased on the scene by Coroner Henry.

The crash is still under investigation by Illinois State Police.

Responding agencies were the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Clay County Ambulance Service, Clay City Fire Department, Illinois State Police and the Clay County Coroner’s Office.

Bayley Walker was a 2022 graduate of Flora High School and had been a member of the Choir and Drama Club. She had held various part time jobs.

Bryson Walker was a student at Floyd Henson Junior High School in Flora.
