The Salem Lady Bobcats won their regional opener at Benton beating the hosts 12-2. Abigail Thompson was the winner allowing just 1 hit and striking out 8. At the plate, Teagan Lobek and Reagan Shuler had 2 hits each. Shuyle drove in 3 runs, Emma Lipe added 2 RBI. Quinn Wolfe, Morgan Honerkamp, Lobek, Adysen Pracht and Thompson drove in runs. Salem will take on Hamilton County from Benton tomorrow for a trip to state after their win over Casey Mount Vernon 18-3.
Also in Class M Wesclin ended Centralia’s season with a 15-1 victory. Albion eliminated Rome 18-0.
In Class M softball Regionals at Smithton, the hosts beat Aviston 15-9, Lebanon over Shiloh 16-3.
In Class S feeding to the Christ Our Rock regional finals, Raccoon/Kell beat Patoka 5-3 to advance to today’s semifinal at Christ Our Rock against Trinity St Mary. Selmaville advanced shutting out Sandoval 18-0 and Iuka beat Odin/ACA 17-4.
In the Lady Pirates win, Katee Sellers struck out 9 in the no-hit win. She also drove in 3 runs at the plate. Rylee Wilson had 2 hits including a home run and drove in 2. Ava Reed had 2 RBI with hits and RBI each from Kenzie McGinnis, Kenley Cripps and Emily Jones. Iuka and Selmaville play tonight for a trip to the regional finals at the Salem Little League Complex.
